Getting started
Dance Jot helps dancers, dance parents, studios, and teachers organize dances, competitions, schedules, results, awards, training, and private performance insights in one place.
Getting started
Choose Dancer for your own records, Dance Parent for children you manage, Studio for rosters and studio dances, or Teacher for private and studio-assigned dances. If more than one role applies, you can add roles and switch your active view from Profile.
Dances and results
Use the Dances and Competitions tabs for full setup. For faster result entry, use Quick Entry, choose the competition and dance, then enter the judges’ scores, adjudication, placement, awards, or critique notes.
Schedules
Open a competition and choose Import Schedule. Dance Jot can read supported PDFs, public schedule webpages, and scanned paper schedules. You can keep the full event schedule and link its entries to dances already in your account. Because vendor formats vary, review important names, entry numbers, dates, and times after importing.
Schedules
Try downloading the schedule as a PDF and importing that file. If standard importing still misses entries, AI Import Assist may be available. You can also keep the schedule and link or correct dances manually.
Family access
A parent sends an invitation to the email address on the child’s Dance Jot account. The recipient should accept only when the parent email shown in the invitation is recognized. Linked family accounts can disconnect from the family-management screen.
Studio access
Studios invite a teacher’s verified Dance Jot account and control that teacher’s studio access. Teachers can work with dances assigned to them or shared with all teachers, while private teacher drafts remain separate until moved to a studio.
AI tools
The AI Critique Assistant analyzes spoken judges’ feedback from a dance video and creates structured critique notes, repeated themes, and suggested priorities. You can use it independently or open it from a dance result to attach the analysis to that dance. Always review AI-generated text for accuracy.
AI tools
AI credits can be used for critique analysis or AI-assisted schedule importing. Complimentary credits, subscription credits, and purchased credit packs may have different terms. The current balance is shown in the app before you start a credit-using feature.
Purchases
Subscriptions and credit-pack purchases are billed to your Apple ID. Manage or cancel a subscription in iPhone Settings under your Apple ID subscriptions. Use Restore Purchases in Dance Jot when an active Apple purchase is not reflected in the app. Canceling stops future renewal; it does not issue a refund.
Notifications
Allow or block push notifications in iPhone Settings. Competition reminders can also be turned on or off inside Dance Jot. The in-app notification inbox lets you open relevant invitations and updates or delete notices you no longer need.
Account and data
Use Forgot Password on the sign-in screen to request a reset email. To delete your Dance Jot account, open Profile/Settings and choose Delete Account. Apple or Google sign-in accounts may need to reauthenticate with that provider before deletion can finish.
